AUSTIN, Texas (BP) — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the San Antonio City Council yesterday (June 3) for public records involved in the council’s decision to exclude Chick-fil-A from an airport concessions contract.
The council excluded the chain in March expressly because of behavior Councilman Roberto Treviño described as "anti-LGBTQ," based on Chick-fil-A’s financial donations to nonprofits including the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
"Chick-fil-A’s leadership is well-known for their personal belief in the Christian faith and traditional understanding of marriage," Paxton said in a press release announcing his suit...Read More

From left: skylines of Fort Worth, Dallas and San Antonio.
Voters in some of Texas’ biggest cities are heading to the polls Saturday to decide who should be their mayor.
In Dallas, a crowded field is vying to succeed term-limited Mayor Mike Rawlings. In Fort Worth, Mayor Betsy Price is seeking an unprecedented fifth term. And in San Antonio, Mayor Ron Nirenberg is up for a second term.
The races are non-partisan, though some are unfolding through a more partisan lens — like in Fort Worth, where Price’s main opponent is the chairwoman of the Tarrant County Democratic Party, Deborah Peoples.
The three cities are among Texas’ five most populous, home to a combined 3.7 million people...Read More
