There are a couple of fun things to do in San Antonio that kids can enjoy, and this post mentions some of the best:
Magik Children’s Theater
Found in the heart of downtown, the Magik Children’s Theater is a fantastic place for children to experience the magic of theaters while watching their favorite books put into action. The theater just focuses on popular kid’s literature, and it is open all year round. The Magik Children’s Theater ideally provides resources for educators who want to expand what their students learned from the plays. The theater is also an ideal resource center for touring groups who perform at events and schools around the area.
Perhaps the best place to take your kids in San Antonio is this aquarium and marine based amusement park. From penguins to killer whales and dolphins to beluga and even sea lions, kids get a chance to see these creatures and ideally interact with some of them. Being both an aquarium and amusement park, this SeaWorld provides a fantastic lineup of thrilling rides and entertaining shows along with a water park as well as a place called Shamu’s Happy Harbor where children can enjoy a pool play region of their own. This is a great place to spend a day or even the whole summer.
Located on Broadway, the Kiddie Park has been a staple for San Antonio children fun since the 1920’s. It was recently acquired and renovated by new owners, thus providing a distinct location for family fun. There’s nothing better than watching your kids’ eyes full of excitement as they ride the kiddie-sized Ferris wheel or the carousel. From the music to the rides and treats, this park certainly provides an opportunity for children to step back into an era of fun.
San Antonio Zoo
Located on 56 acres near Brackenridge Park in San Antonio, the San Antonio Zoo is home to over 3500 animals, thus making it one of the major zoos in the state. The Zoo ideally hosts the Kronkosky Tiny Tot Nature Spot, an area dedicated to educating young children and allowing them to learn through play and immerse themselves in nature surrounding them.
HEB Science Treehouse
Found inside Witte Museum, the HEB Science Treehouse offers four stories of fun for children of any age. The exhibits include Body transformation, Eco-science as well as the HEB cycle. These exhibits can make for a morning or afternoon of fun.
