Can you see the beam of a 5mW green laser pointer?
I want one of the ones where you can see the beam, but all the higher powered ones are expensive, I want it mostly to point at stars and stuff with friends.
if not, can you list the lowest power that you can see the beam, and if you need a permit to use one? (I know some higher powered ones require a permit.)
for all the people saying “You would have to have dust or smoke” I am talking about in the dark. I know it is almost impossible to see it in the daylight.

Where can I find a nice 5mw green laser pointer?
I’m looking for a laser pointer with a constant on/off switch so I don’t have to hold the button down. I live in San Francisco so any store in the city would be fine. Or, it could be through amazon or any other online store. I am not willing to pay more than $30.

Difference between 5mW and 50mW green laser pointer?
Alright so, I’m trying to decide whether to get a 5mW green laser pointer or a 50mW. I’m not too loaded so the $20 difference is fairly large percentage of my bank account, and I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra money to go for the 50mW
